ADM Alliance Nutrition, Inc., a fully-owned subsidiary of Archer
Daniels Midland Company and national manufacturer of livestock feed
with over 40 locations in North America, is seeking an Assistant
Plant Manager at our South Sioux City, NE facility. This position is
responsible for overseeing the effective operation of the warehouse
and production facility. This includes the scheduling of production,
supervision of employees, and ensuring safety and quality procedures
are met.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Active, hands-on involvement and daily presence within the
facility handling production, bagging, warehouse, and
delivery issues.
• Work with QA technicians to help implement food
safety/sanitation /quality programs to ensure that the
facility is compliant with the law, regulatory requirements,
and company programs along with continuously looking for
improvements to the Quality Assurance programs.
• Work to find new and more efficient ways to manufacture,
ship, and control costs to help add value to ADM and the
shareholders.
• Work with Plant Manager, Quincy Management, and Decatur, to
ensure Safety training programs are being completed.
• Monitor the workplace for improvements, safety, and personnel
concerns.
• Respond to and follow up on customer complaints, while
working alongside sales personnel on these issues.
• Hold Toolbox meetings on a weekly basis.
• Work closely with personnel from Quincy office dealing with
scheduling, production, and formulation issues.
• Responsible for backing up Plant Manager in helping make
everyday decisions and signing off on paperwork.
• Participate in inventory reconciliations and in the monthly
sanitation/quality/GMP audits.
Requirements for this position include a Bachelor’s Degree (or
equivalent experience), related industry knowledge, and 1-3 years of
supervisory experience. The successful candidate must have superior
verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, a
demonstrated ability to present material with energy and enthusiasm
to motivate and influence people, computer skills in PowerPoint,
Word, Excel and Outlook, and a history of working safely and a
reputation for promoting and getting involved in safety improvement
efforts.
